Why “Arvocado”?
The name is a small joke with a point. Australians keep getting told they can’t afford a home because of smashed-avo brunch. We took the avocado and put it on your side. It’s property the Australian way: warm, honest, and a bit cheeky. 🥑
What we believe
- A four-bedroom house with a garden beats a “prestige family residence.”
- Fit matters more than scarcity. We won’t run a countdown timer at you.
- The right home is a feeling, not a postcode.
- You’re smart. You want the jargon gone.
How it works
Take the quiz and we’ll learn your type. Your feed sorts itself around what you actually want. Save places, compare them, and bring the people who matter into a shared Room.
What’s free, and what’s not
Browsing is free. The quiz and the map too. Saving places and a Basic room are free once you sign up. When you’re ready to run the whole move, Room Pass opens the buying, renting, and selling rooms. It’s $130 for 90 days, and your first pass is $65. No ads, and we don’t sell your data. You only pay if a room earns it. If you want to chip in anyway, there’s a tip jar.
Independent and Australian
Arvocado is independent and built in Australia. We’re not a big portal, and we’re not owned by one. That’s deliberate: the people using the app come first.
We built the property site we wanted to use.
